HAM AND CHEESE BREAD COOKED ON A CAMPFIRE
Makes 6 servings
1 loaf of French or Italian bread
1/4 cup (60 g) softened butter
1 tbsp (15 g) mustard
6 slices of Swiss cheese
6 slices of cold cut ham
PREPARATION
Cut twelve slices from a loaf of bread, stopping about 1/4 inch (6 mm) from the bottom.
Mix butter and mustard until combined.
Spread every other slice with the butter/mustard mixture.
Place a slice of cheese and a slice of meat on the buttered slices to create six sandwiches.
Wrap the bread in a large sheet of greased aluminum foil to create a foil packet.
Place on a barbecue or campfire and cook over medium heat for about twenty to thirty minutes, turning the bread every five to ten minutes.
Carefully open the foil packet, separate the sandwiches and serve.
