Nordic Experience
Ecogriffe has teamed up with @laforgecoaching to experience, with Slow Cartel members, an experience to build resilience and self-control in symbiosis with nature. For Nick & Phil, the two coaches of this intense and moving experience, preparation is just as important as the immersion itself. To breathe positive and inspiring energy into the place, they wanted to use human energy to break the ice of the lake that would welcome the participants. They spent hours using axes to break through the thick ice, to make way for this mythical hole in which an extraordinary experience was to be lived.
The Nordic experience is about opening up to the unknown, the desire to push your limits. It is a bath in icy water that allows you to learn to control your mind and breathing, to be more in tune with your feelings than ever before. This practice causes intense short-term stress that allows you to become mentally stronger and more responsive by facilitating our adaptation to the small stresses and challenges of everyday life. The idea is to transpose this way of approaching an intense situation to everyday life by keeping the focus on yourself and your feelings. All the participants came out of it invigorated, positively shaken in their beliefs and with renewed self-confidence.
Inspiration, expiration, concentration and more than anything surpassing oneself. I experienced the ultimate immersion in icy water in this magnificent hole. Overcoming fear and apprehension, experiencing the sensation of being out of breath when in contact with the icy water and self-control so as not to panic when the body's limbs no longer respond correctly. Experiencing all these emotions at the same time was a most intense and satisfying ordeal. I thank Slow Cartel by Ecogriffe infinitely for allowing me to live this unforgettable experience!
The Nordic experience allowed me to create space in my mind. [...] I was able to connect with a part of myself that was much freer than usual. Free from any judgment towards myself, expectations or over-analysis. [...] It gave me access to a void that I didn't think existed. Now, I try to find it a little in my days, through the control of my thoughts because we all know that it happens between the two ears. I trust that this void can give me access to a better version of myself, detached but invested. Probably more creative and open.
I experienced this as a true collective immersion into the depths of our inner strengths, which are so powerful despite what we may sometimes be led to believe. The apprehension, the excitement, the fear of the unknown were transformed into feelings of surpassing oneself, of openness, of pride. These inner strengths are powerful, as powerful as what nature can offer us. This experience of great connection to nature, to oneself and to others confirmed this to me… Thank you again for allowing me to live this adventure with you.
